Recently I went to the Bourjois blogger event to check out their new ranges, eat mushroom sliders, drink potent punch, and mingle amongst a selection of the beauty blogosphere. I absolutely love Bourjois and they have to be one of the most consistent brands for bringing out updates and new ranges of excellent quality. We were introduced to the new La Laque nail polishes, which come in twelve high-shine shades and cute triangular bottles that slot together to look real pretty on your dresser (below). We also looked at the Rouge Edition Aqua Laque lipgloss, successor to the Rouge Edition Velvets, lightly textured Nude Sensation foundations and Magic Nail Care cuticle and nail conditioner.
I'm loving the Rouge Aquas, which come in an eight shade spectrum of blushing pinks and show-stopping reds. These give you moist-looking lips that appear fuller, without drying them out. Unlike some lacquers they're not sticky in texture, and there's honestly a shade for everyone.
The event was held in a swanky hotel penthouse, and after the excitement of seeing Lily Aldridge in the hotel foyer on my way up, I got giddy all over again at the sight of so many beautiful products laid out on tables. We also had manicures using the new polishes (mine did not chip in the slightest for almost two weeks after), and the manicurist I was with delighted me with the intel that she does Paris Hilton's nails when she's in London, and she regularly does Kate Middleton's. I tried to find out if K-Middy goes for shellac or your standard french polish. The manicurist to the stars opened her mouth to answer, but then shook her head and said she wasn't allowed to tell me. I'm guessing shellac.
The cocktails were super - a summery vodka punch (below), and there was a delicious vegetarian alternative to the mini-burgers. I had three mini-mushroom sliders, no shame. I've had so many compliments about the nail colours and the lipglosses, and I can't wait to see what Bourjois bring out next. What do you like the look of in these ranges? Leave me a comment below x
