I think us Brits who are beauty fans see Sephora as a magical wonderland way out of reach. This American store actually pretty much sells the same stuff we have in Space NK or Cult Beauty. It's the bits we can't get over here that make it so damn alluring! Now you can order online at Sephora and pay a fixed price overseas fee instead of having to brace yourself at the checkout and hope your shipping wasn't going to cost more than the products in your basket. It's £6 for orders over £75, but you also have to pay taxes. I think mine came to £25 in total, which is the price of a whole other product, sad face. But on the plus side, you do get some exciting things that are hard to get in the UK. I got the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz (which is much more available on these shores now), and no wonder it's a cult product, it's the most natural looking brow filler and definer I've ever used! Air punch! I also got the Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner, which I think is only available on Amazon in the UK, though you used to be able to buy her stuff at Feel Unique. It's a brilliant liner - easy pen-style to use, looks glossy, and stays put. It's also much easier to remove than I thought it would be. Finally, I got three Ardency Inn eyeshadows from their Manuka Honey Pigments range. I wrote about those in more detail, including swatches, here.
A bonus about ordering from Sephora are all the little extras, which I love. You get points for each item you buy, which you can redeem at the checkout by clicking on your choice of samples. Or you can save them up to swap them for full size items. Every purchase also comes with three samples that you select from a sort of 'sample menu', so when your order arrives it's mini-size product city. Still doesn't make that shipping and tax charge any less painful, but if you want to try beauty items you can't get in Blighty, what can ya do!
