Ssh, don't tell the other beauty bloggers, but I'd don't own Too Faced's Chocolate Bar Palette. I know, right? What kind of legit beauty blogger in this day and age doesn't have that makeup staple? I did think about getting the Semi-Sweet palette, mostly because I was drawn to the shade called Peanut Butter. Hold the phone, and put down the credit card - they went ahead and released a whole palette dedicated to probably the best orangey-brown shade known to eyelids. The Peanut Butter and Jelly Palette has been out for a while now, and has inspired a whole raft of orange and purple eye tutorials on YouTube. Just in case you're thinking of getting this, I thought I'd swatch it, even though I'm way late to any kind of PB and Jelly swatch party. And yes, in true Too Faced form, the palette is scented - a sweet peanutty aroma that's not unpleasant, though scented eye powder is a gimmick too far for me.
I love how small and lightweight this little tin compact is, perfect for slipping in your bag if you need to do touchups, or if you're taking a palette travelling. There are nine matte and shimmer shades, all highly pigmented and as smooth as a jar of Skippy. Peanut Butter and Nuts About You are awesome crease shades for any eye colour, but can really make blue eyes pop. I didn't think I'd be that fussed about the Jelly shade, but it's so pretty and iridescent, perfect for bringing out the green in my hazel eyes, and I've worn it as both an eyeliner and and as part of a smoky eye. Peanut Butter Cup and Peanut Brittle are both brilliant metallic one and done all over lid colours, and I like Bananas, a pale gold for times when a bit of gold is needed.
Here's a swatch of Nuts About You (bottom) as I couldn't fit it in above. Such a gorgeous terracotta, I looove! Extra Creamy just doesn't show up on my skin, lol. Too creamy for the pale people.
The Peanut Butter & Jelly palette is limited edition, though it's still available on Too Faced's site, and currently there's free shipping to the UK. Plus, there's always Ebay for limited edition makeup. If you already own other Too Faced palettes you might feel a bit of deja vu with some of the shades, but this is my first and I'm thrilled. I'm also living for Too Faced founder Jerrod Blandino's YouTube channel, he's hilarious, go take a look see. Whilst eating PB & jelly sandwiches, if you're into that kind of weird stuff.
