The Oskia Signature Glow Facial At One Aldwych

The One Aldwych Hotel on The Strand is fast becoming my favourite London hotel. I've been invited by National Geographic to a screening in One Aldwych's private cinema, and by the hotel to try their delicious cocktails in the Lobby Bar that's steeped in history. Last week I was very privileged to be invited back to try the Oskia Signature Glow facial in the hotel's stunning spa. If you're in need of a totally relaxing experience, or an indulgent gift to buy someone, I'd highly recommend booking here. Not only was my facial out of this world relaxing but all customers can use the spa facilities before or after their treatment, these include the gym, a steam room and sauna, and  a chlorine-free pool that plays underwater music.  The staff are so lovely, and you'll feel well looked after. After helping me settle in and offering me a choice of cucumber or orange infused water, I was taken to the treatment room which was the cosiest space known to man. I had to put the lights on to take the photo, but imagine it lit only by candles - with the gentle smell of fresh lavender in the air. The bed is heated, and getting under the covers felt like being inside a safe, cosy cocoon. I could have fallen asleep there and then.  My therapist came in the room with a pillow support for my knee, I hadn't asked for one but I'd mentioned on my registration form that I currently had a knee injury - they are that good with the customer service there. We talked through my skin needs, which were summed up as the requirement for some major hydration. I asked for no steam, so there would normally be a section for extractions, but I went for full on relaxation, and I don't think my face has been massaged continually for so long in one 75 minute session before. Unsurprisingly, my skin glowed and felt much firmer afterwards.I was excited to get better acquainted with Oskia, a fairly new British brand that I'd heard good things about but not tried. It's all pure, natural good stuff, with a focus on skin nutrition. I'm cleansed with the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel which contains pumpkin to reduce inflammation in the skin, and improve texture. Dead skin cells are gently sloughed away with the rich Micro Exfoliating Balm, whilst all the while the Rose de Mai oil was heating in its own candle. This is such a genius idea, and gives you the benefits of both a heavenly scented candle and warm oil that you pour from it. As well as my face and décolletage being massaged, my hands and arms were also pampered, and I was asked to sit up so I could have a blissful back, neck and should massage too. Between each stage of the facial, my face was gently wrapped in a hot towel, and I now want a box of hot towels at home - there's nothing nicer than the feeling of them. The final stage was to have Bedtime Beauty Boost applied, which I'm assured is perfect for day time use on slightly parched skin. It's a comforting, thick cream that's easily absorbed and works to plump skin, boost vitamins and help with hyperpigmentation. The Oskia Signature Glow Facial is perfect for the ultimate pampering treat - you could spend a whole afternoon by yourself having a quiet swim, relaxing in the sauna, and then having the most massagey of all the facials. There's also spa packages that allow you to mix treatments with cocktails, lunch or afternoon tea at the hotel and have a money-saving deal. The facial is tailored to your individual skin needs, and is absolute heaven, it's not called Signature Glow for nothing.
