Alpha-H Autumn Essentials

 Whilst autumn is hands-down the best season™  it's also the time of year one's skin tends to get royally messed up due to a heady combination of colder weather and central heating, and now we also have daily covid-protection mask wearing thrown in to the mix (aka, constant lower-face sweat). I was excited to get sent these bits from Aussie brand Alpha-H, the queens of glycolic acid - that wonderful stuff that exfoliates the outermost dead layer of skin to help achieve a more luminous and youthful glow.The balancing cleanser is perfect for this season, and it smells of damask roses, hmm. It works hard to get rid of makeup and dirt, without disrupting your skin's PH balance. This creamy cleanser hydrates with vitamin E, so skin feels clean without tightness. The Micro Cleanse Super Scrub is to take things up a notch once or twice a week when you want to have a good old exfoliate. Alpha-H claim this product rivals microdermabrasion, with a mighty 12% glycolic acid. I'm not sure about that, but it's definitely worked wonders on removing blackheads and evening out skin texture, I'm impressed.Good skin needs masks, and the Clear Skin Blemish Control Mask has fast become one of my all time favourites. You can see from the half empty tube I've been using this the most, it's just so good. Half the time I use clay masks I have no idea if they're actually doing anything. This one not only hardens like clay, but tingles straight away, and smells slightly medicated. After ten minutes I wash it off and my skin looks so revived, it's helped keep spots at bay during lockdown. To finish, the Essential Skin Perfecting Moisturiser is both lightweight and super-nourishing. Perfect to wear at home, though I'm not sure it's SPF15 is enough for me to wear outdoors, I'm a strictly SPF50 kinda girl, and Alpha-H does have one this high. Absolutely loving this brand. It might have simple packaging, but by god it gets down to business and is incredibly affordable for the level of exfoliating acids it's delivering.
