EarthBits Eco Home Cleaning

Somehow it became fashionable in the world of blogging, Instagram and YouTube to talk about your cleaning products, watch time lapses of rooms being cleaned, and 'housework influencers' become a thing. Whilst it can be weirdly satisfying to see other people tidy up whilst you sit on your arse with a cuppa, what emerged was the gobsmacking amount of harsh chemical cleaning products, plastic, and one-use tools a lot of people were using. I'm guilty of being a fan of the Dettol Wipe (they're just so much more hygienic!), and buying home cleaning bits wrapped in plastic, but I want to change my ways - and I'm so glad EarthBits got in touch.Yorkshire-based couple Fran and Jason wanted to implement real change for the planet and set up EarthBits to help you work towards a plastic-free, sustainable household. They offer a range of environmentally friendly and recyclable products, using organic vegan-friendly materials. They kindly sent me some of their kitchen items (above), which include dish-cleaning brushes made from coconut fibre bristles. These are 100% natural and compostable, so they won't end up on landfill like plastic brushes or brillo pads. I also got an eco-scrubber made from cotton and bamboo-fibre, so it's reusable and biodegradable. The dinosaur print is so cute, and might get kids interested in a bit of cleaning... if you're lucky. As well as cleaning tools they also have vegan, natural makeup and skincare, deodorants and toothpaste, items for babies, and cute gift sets for new mums, new homeowners, and so on. This is a great way to cut down on waste that hurts the environment, and create a more organic and environmentally friendly home free from harsh chemicals, plastics, and items that don't compost. A brilliant Christmas gift idea for those wanting to make little changes that contribute to big results.Collaboration with EarthBits
