Pure Evil Street Artist

Art

Yesterday I wrote about a tour of street art I went on for Nokia to test their Lumia 1020. I was over the moon when the final part of the tour involved us going to Pure Evil's gallery, meeting him, and having a behind the scenes tour of his workshop. He is one of the most well known and exciting street artists, and I love his current collaboration with Royal Doulton. Pure Evil is best known for his sweet, yet malevolent little creatures, and his bleeding eye lady pictures. They probably have actual names, but this is what I call them. You should check out the gallery, which is actually two spaces next door to one another. You can buy anything from prints to large-scale pieces of work. If you are lucky, as we were, you might catch Pure Evil jamming on his guitar in the middle of the gallery.

We were taken downstairs to his (evil?) lair where he has a studio filled with every colour of spray paint under the sun. How many people can say they have watched Pure Evil at work? He also showed us his 'man cave' which is a recording studio, what else? I think Pure Evil was saying that he still makes street art, and he also personally knows Banksy who still does both street art, and work grounded in street art. He took all our constant snapping away on our Nokia Lumia phones in good humour, and happily posed for pictures. What a nice, evil guy!
